Recently, I’ve been keeping googlebook track of the scrapping of the ALP-44 deadline in Port Morris, and when I visited this morning, NJ Transit crews were preparing to move more ALP-44s off the deadline and up to the crossing for scrapping. The units were moved by NJT GP40PH-2 4106, and the locomotives moved were 4409, 4412, 4408, 4416, 4431, and 4403. This leaves 14 units remaining on the Lackawanna Cutoff awaiting scrapping.
In this video, morgan rielly trade rumors which is mostly drone footage (no audio), we see YD41 enter the Lackawanna Cutoff and proceed down to the ALP-44 deadline. On its return trip east, it crosses the Center Street Bridge, making for a unique view that is very rarely seen today. This next batch of six units will likely be scrapped over the next week or so.
