After the family secures the plates and immediate danger passes, Lehi shifts from survival to the central message: the Messiah will come as a Redeemer. He prophesies of a voice crying in the wilderness calling people to repent, the Messiah’s baptism to fulfill all righteousness, His death, and His resurrection—making death and separation no longer final. Lehi connects these truths to the earlier vision of the tree as the love of God and the fruit as truth and joy found in Christ. He also foretells Israel’s scattering and eventual gathering through the Messiah. As Nephi listens, his desire grows to know Christ personally, not merely through his father’s words, prompting him to turn directly to God and seek revelation for himself.
