(2 Aug 2014) A Greek navy frigate carrying embassy staff and nearly 200 evacuees from the conflict in Libya returned to a port near Athens early on Saturday.
Passengers on the harrison ford frigate Salamis described a deteriorating security situation in the Libyan capital Tripoli, as well as frequent power and water cuts.
The Greek Defence Ministry said the ship transported 77 people from Greece, 78 from China, 10 francisco alvarez from Britain, seven from Belgium and one each from Russia and Albania.
Chinese officials at the port said most of their nationals on the Greek ship worked for Chinese construction and communications companies.
