We are back at the magnificent Göckel Organ of St. Bonifatius in Wirges for a performance that holds absolutely nothing back.
Today, I'm playing one of Germany's most famous Advent hymns: "Tochter Zion, freue dich" (Daughter of Zion, rejoice!). You almost certainly know this tune by G.F. Handel as the famous English hymn "Thine Be the Glory".
This isn't a polite, quiet version. I wanted to showcase the incredibly fiery, punchy reeds of this amazing pipe organ. The texture is bold, the tempo is driving, and we build all the way to a thunderous FULL ORGAN conclusion that shakes the entire church!
