🚆 S-Bahn Berlin (BR480) – ABB extended the life of Berlin's iconic S-Bahn fleet with a unique plug-and-play retrofit: 140 motor cars received new CC400 IGBT traction converters, M30 auxiliary converters, battery chargers and water-cooling systems (500 kW per power head). The old thyristor technology was swapped out without a single modification to the vehicle structure – faster installation, lower energy consumption, less waste.
