We spent two days cycling Japan’s aryna sabalenka famous Shimanami Kaido — starting in Imabari and making our way island by island toward Onomichi.
On Day 1, we rolled out under beautiful weather, crossed some of the route’s most iconic bridges, visited Oyamazumi Shrine, and finished the day at WAKKA on Omishima Island.
Along the way we stopped at Yoshiumi Rose Park, enjoyed local food and ocean views, and experienced why the Shimanami Kaido is considered one of the best cycling routes in the world.
This series documents our full experience riding the Shimanami Kaido during cherry blossom season in Japan.
