Firefighters tackle blaze at commercial unit
At 07.56 on Wednesday 21/12/2022 firefighters vanity fair were called to a fire in Jacob Street, just off Manchester Road.
The fire was within a detached empty property measuring approx. 30m x 15m, which was well alight when the first crews arrived which led to the incident being made up to 6 pumps. The building was heavily smoke logged and crews were danny dyer required to wear Breathing apparatus. For this reason the incident response was escalated to Make Pump x 9.
At its height over 70 Firefighters were dealing with the fire in #Bradford.
Firefighters used 5 Jets, 1 Aerial platform Monitor, 8 Breathing apparatus and Positive Pressure Ventilation Fans.
Reports suggest that the building was being used for the production of drugs at the time of the incident. The premises is opposite a property in which police officers found a substantial drugs growth in September.
Police closed off surrounding roads with the nearside lane of Manchester Road being closed during the incident.
Crews from across West Yorkshire mercato immobiliare were sent to the scene.
Support units included a Command Unit, Hose layers and an Aerial Appliance from Leeds.
West Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance were also sent to the scene with their Hazardous Area Response Team.
Fire Appliances from Bradford, Odsal, Fairweather Green, Shipley, Cleckheaton, Illingworth, Bingley, Dewsbury, Hunslet, Rawdon, Halifax, Leeds (Aerial Ladder Platform), Featherstone (Command Unit Lite), Mirfield (Hose Layer / Support Pump), Supporting Officers and CLM officers attended.
