Instants can be accessed in 2 different ways. You can post escroquerie and view Instants from within the Instagram app, or you can use the dedicated Instants app. The feature works exactly the same either way.
To access Instants within Instagram, open the Instagram app and tap the message icon in the bottom menu. Then tap the Instants icon that’s peeking out in the bottom right corner. If your friends have posted Instants, this will appear as a stack of photos ready to view. When viewing a friends’ Instant, you can tap an emoji to respond to it, or just tap the image itself to move on to the next Instant that’s available to view. You can only view an Instant one time, and only the friend who posted it can see your responses.
When you finish viewing Instants posted by your friends, you’ll be taken to a camera window. This is a very simple interface with a square camera preview and only a couple controls. You can tap the flash icon to turn flash on or off, tap the rotating arrows to switch between your device’s front and back cameras. The middle circle is of course the shutter button. At the bottom, you can choose if you want your Instant to be shared with only your close friends list, or your friends, which are followers who you follow back. If you want to add a caption, you have to add it before posting. Tap the bottom of the camera preview window to open the caption editor. Then type in what you’d like your caption to be. The text will be added at the edge of your Instants photo. When you tap the shutter button, your Instant will be captured and posted immediately. If you make a mistake, you can tap the undo button to quickly delete an Instant before your friends open it. There’s no option to upload images here, or to view or edit your post before sharing. You snap a photo and it’s immediately shared with your selected audience. You can post as many Instants as you like. Friends can view each of your Instants only one time, and they cannot be screenshotted.
You can view your shared Instants posts by tapping the album icon in the top right corner. Here you can see your past Instants posts. Hold one down to get the option to download it or delete it. If you’d like to share an Instant with all of your followers, you can create an Instants recap to post on stories. Tap the selection tool in the top right corner, select the Instants you want to share to your story, then tap Create Recap at the bottom to make a recap of all your selected Instants. This will automatically generate a story with your Instants of the day, along with text overlays that say Instants Recap and the date. You can customize or delete these if you like. Edit your story how you want it with text, stickers, and music, and tap Your Story or Close Friends to share it.
