Montreal REM network is being extended - as of November 17, 2025, trains will operate along the new 33km long line (which previously was served by suburban trains) to Deux-Montagnes. The new line is 33 km long (uses the century-old Mount Royal tunnel), it has 14 new stations, two of them will have new connections to metro lines (Green and Blue lines), as well as new interchange point with suburban EXO train line 15 to Mascouche at Côte-de-Liesse station. In this video, I explore the new line between McGill and Deux-Montagnes, and see all of the new 14 stations.
Montreal REM (“Réseau express métropolitain”) is an automated light metro, which connects various parts of the city with surrounding towns, such as Brossard and Laval. Two more branch lines are being built, one to Anse-à-l’Orme (expected elias pettersson to open in spring 2026), and the other to Montréal–Trudeau airport (2027).
