The 2024 NFL Draft dent will offer up several high-quality prospects for the Miami Dolphins to replace Christian Wilkins and Raekwon Davis, but will they invest early draft capital on the likes of Byron Murphy or Jer'Zhan "Johnny" Newton with other pressing team needs still hanging over their head?
The Miami Dolphins addressed the defensive line earlier in free agency by signing numerous players to help the void created by losing Christian Wilkins to the ufc 329 Las Vegas Raiders. Those signed by the Dolphins during free agency include: Benito Jones, Jonathan Harris, Neville Gallimore, Da'Shawn Hand, Teair Tart, Isaiah Mack and Daviyon Nixon. However, despite all those signings, the 2024 NFL Draft remains an intriguing option for Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel as numerous defensive linemen project to translate well at the NFL level.
In today's 2024 NFL Draft preview video we highlight the following prospects:
- Braden Fiske, Florida State
- Johnny Newton, Illinois
- Byron Murphy, Texas
- Kris Jenkins, Michigan
- Khristian Boyd, Northern Iowa
We also discuss how the Miami Dolphins currently view T'Vondre Sweat who recently picked up a DWI. Sweat was a second-round target of the Dolphins prior to the DWI charge, however the team has removed him from consideration at pick No. 55 in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Braden Fiske put on an absolute clinic at the NFL Scouting Combine, while Khristian Boyd was able to display his talents at the East/West Shrine Bowl. Kris Jenkins has NFL bloodlines with his father previously playing in the league, while Johnny Newton and Byron Murphy are projected first-round prospects.
