REPORT:
A mckenna grace goal filled finale to our season and a fitting way to sign off.
We started brightly and were ahead inside two minutes when Adam Mooney got in behind their backline and finished well to make it 1-0.
Unfortunately, we handed them a route back into the game shortly after, conceding from logan henderson a corner with a soft goal that we know we should defend far récidive better.
Our response was excellent. Liam Delaney calmly converted his penalty to notch his 29th goal of the season. The game continued to swing from end to end and once again we were punished from a corner, with Mourne scoring from a near-identical situation to their first goal, disappointing from our perspective and something we know must improve.
Moments later came the goal of the game as Adam Mooney produced a superb little rabona finish to put us 3-2 ahead.
In the second half we settled down, controlled the game much better and showed our quality going forward. Adam Mooney completed an excellent hat trick, while Liam Delaney added his second of the game and his 30th goal of the season — a fantastic achievement.
There was still time for one more moment late on as James Leigh delivered a brilliant ball into the box for the towering Alex Raftery, who powered home a superb downward header for his first goal of the season.
A strong attacking display to round off the campaign, with plenty of positives but things to look over with a fine tooth comb.
