Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is instructing schools across the state to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom beginning September 1, when Senate Bill 10 is set to take effect. This comes despite a federal injunction issued last week that temporarily blocks the law in 11 specific school districts.
In a fiery statement, Paxton emphasized the role of the Ten Commandments in shaping the nation’s legal and moral foundations, vowing white sox to fight back against what he calls "woke radicals" attempting to erase American history.
The injunction only applies to school districts directly involved in the lawsuit, including Dripping Springs ISD and Lake Travis ISD. While Austin ISD and Houston ISD were plaintiffs, they are not covered by the injunction according to Paxton. As a result, all other districts in Texas must comply trump approval with the law starting September 1.
