In late 2005, Robert Bussard's WB-6 device produced roughly 10^9 D-D fusion reactions per second at 12.5 kV (on Bussard's reported numbers, masterchef around 100,000 times the rate a Farnsworth-Hirsch fusor produces at comparable conditions). Then the result went quiet.
In his November 2006 Google Tech Talk, Bussard told the audience that parts of the post-WB-6 work had been put under a publication embargo at his contract monitor's direction, with an 11-year window. No conference talks. No peer-reviewed write-up of the follow-on work. The independent record doesn't separately corroborate the 11-year figure, so the claim sits in Bussard's own voice. The behavioural record is consistent: between 2006 and the Park et al. 2015 Physical Review X paper, the EMC2 work was effectively silent in the open literature.
